Ice Age: Collision Course (2016), PG, ★

Why are y'all looking at me? It's that bad.
Boy, I mentioned that in my review of the movie, Lights Out, does not overstay its welcome into the horror franchise. My goodness...the fifth (I cannot believe there are five of these movies) Ice Age movie produces some humor that is old and tiring that when the weasels that they are reporting for duty, they make a scathing reference to, well, excrement. And, most of the movie is in that definition of excrement because this movie has run out of steam or in this case, ice, to get the engine get going. I desperately want this series to end.

What is this? Groundhog Day? Well, the best character in the whole franchise, Scrat, that pesky squirrel, is still trying to find a place where to store his acorn. Before he sticks it into the ice, Scrat falls and lands on a pad. While he attempts to store his acorn on this pad, the pad turns into a giant flying saucer, bursting it out into space. While he is shot out of the saucer, Scrat decides to stick it in an asteroid causing the asteroid to split and send it hurtling towards Earth.

There are lot of things going on with the crew. Manny (voiced by Ray Romano) and Ellie (voiced by Queen Latifah) are celebrating their anniversary, even though Manny forgets. Peaches (voiced by Keke Palmer) and Julian (voiced by Adam DeVine), a lovable mammoth, announces after they get married, they will separate away from Manny and Ellie to start out their own herd. Diego (voiced by Denis Leary) contemplates about having children with his mate, Shira (voiced by Jennifer Lopez), but kids are terrified of them. Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo) is worried that he will not find another mate.

Later, a meteor shower starts coming down wiping out a little bit of the eco-system. Buck the weasel (voiced by Simon Pegg) comes out of underground after being chased by a few dinosaurs to show the herd that there is a doomsday event coming, wiping out everybody on the planet. They meet with Neil deBuck Weasel (voiced by Neil DeGrasse Tyson) to talk about the meteor potentially hitting Earth discussing how to get the meteor away from killing everybody. They come up with a plan.

One small step for squirrel, one giant leap for disaster.
This movie...*facepalm* is deplorable. It just bored me to death because almost every joke in this movie and almost every punchline is dated. The storyline between Diego/Manny/Sid is getting worse and exhausting because I feel like their chemistry is kaput and the filmmakers and writers stretch the main storyline between these guys too long. It should've ended after the third movie and just make it a complete trilogy.

Why the one star? Well...it is because of Scrat and I liked that Buck comes back in the film but it does not take away from the many overloaded subplots of the film regarding Manny and Ellie, Peaches and Julian, Diego and Shiva, Sid, the meteor plot...it's a mess especially for an animated film. The movie is the epitome of a person trying to ice skate for a while but once he steps inside the ice rink, he or she falls miserably and breaks his or her wrist and then the person is crying. It is cash-grab, no more and no less.

2015 Documentaries

I have only seen 6 documentaries this year which also includes Amy and I Am Chris Farley . But, I have to be honest, this has not been a particularly strong year for documentaries except for onethat got me emotionally and mentally as what I examine for when they uncover the truth or some facts from the people involved in these documentaries. But, here are the four I have seen this year: Listen To Me Marlon, Unrated, 4 stars This is the most insightful documentary of the year as we only hear Marlon Brando narrating his life and experiences what he has gone through regarding his family, his private life and his film experiences regarding The Godfather , Apocalypse Now , Last Tango in Paris , etc. It is like Marlon Brando came out of his grave to give us another profoundly moving movie only we hear his voice and scenery and nothing else. The Look of Silence, R, 3.5 stars Joshua Oppenheimer's follow-up documentary is a light-hearted but still-disturbing film regarding a

Daddy's Home 2 (2017), PG-13, ★1/2

The first Daddy's Home was surprisingly a financial success as I thought it was not as bad as many people thought. I thought it was a solid cable watch because it had enough laughs for that sort of mixed recommendation. I was not craving for a sequel for this movie because again, comedy sequels have a very bad record, however, the only difference is that it is not too late since the first movie came out a few years ago. But, this sequel is a reminder as to why we do not need a sequel to a hit comedy because this is a pretty much forgettable comedy, especially a holiday comedy...which I hade a guilty pleasure for. This did not work for me. Brad and Dusty (Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg) have become friends after the events of the first film and they set up a co-dad system where their two children, Megan and Dylan, spending time at each father's home. Dusty has re-married to writer Karen (Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio) and he is step-dad to Adrianna, Karen&
